Text Box: THE ASHES
Green ash is usually found in river flood plains; white ash just upslope from that.; Texas ash on rocky uplands and Berlandier ash only as a planted tree common in neighborhoods of the 1960’s & 1970’s.  The later is usually incorrectly called “Arizona ash” in our area.
The White and Texas ashes have the leaf bud sitting well down into the leaf scar while the Green ash has the bud sitting on top of the leaf scar.  See twig pictures.
